Environmental Health Officer

Public Health Inspectors reduce the risk of illness and improve public health in personal, professional and public settings. We inspect public recreational pools and hot tubs; approve and inspect foods sold publicly at special events, restaurants, and other food facilities; review personal service businesses like hair salons, barbershops, tattoo and body modification establishments; respond to sewerage system failures, enforce legislation requiring improvements to water systems; and respond to emergencies like floods, wildfires and winter storms to ensure health hazards are controlled.
